How I found Voodoo...

The Drum Days 1996, one of the Magic Circle projects brought the right people together to start an open practical voodoo working group. 3 days of practical voodoo-experience. It was a great experience, but we all still had our doubts in this project. 1998, during the next "alpenvoodoo", a big exu/papa legba rite was performed, time synchroniced with friends in Benin. This was a head blowing experience. Now we knew, that we had to go on with our work. Several intense meetings followed and an IOT-temple "Eleggua Calling" grew out of it. The last alpenvoodoo-meeting took place in 2002.

This group gave me a big kick towards Vodoo, but in the end I came to the conclusion, that this  is not really what i was looking for. I thought that there should be more than what we could experience.

...
& how Vodoo found me!

One day, i got an email with questions about our "alpenvoodoo". I replied and so i met an initiated ifa-priestess. From the beginning on i was very fascinated about the practical work i saw. I was confused, because this is a religion too and i used paradigms (like a religion) as tools for my magic goals, but never as a way to follow. Fagbemissi helped me out by showing a very relaxed and pragmatic approach to vodoo. Apart from that I saw so much success of the work that has been done. I saw and I attended loads of rituals in my life, but i did not see many that effective. Then i met a cuban. He gave me the last kick to start seriosly doing my vodoo practice. He told me a lot about Benin and Cuba and the background of Ifa and Vodoo. By the time i also met more and more very powerful and advanced people and i was lucky to be able to take part in some vodoo initiations. Today I am proud to be an initiated priest too.

I still do my personal magic experiments, I´m studying the Maximon cult and differnent Mayan and shaman rituals. But it looks like that I will mainly  work on my approch to vodoo for a longer time.
